“Men Who Cook” Raises Over $62,000
SPLENDORA, TX (October 21, 2025) — The Splendora ISD Education Foundation’s annual Men Who Cook fundraiser brought together the community in a big way this past weekend, raising more than $62,000 to benefit local teachers and students.
Held on Saturday, October 18 at The Atrium Center, the event featured 20 chef teams made up of local leaders, educators, and community members, all competing for top honors in categories such as Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Beverage, and Best Theme. Guests sampled the dishes and voted for their favorites throughout the evening.
Winners included:
-
The Rusty Buckle – Best Appetizer
-
Supts Who Cook (Dr. Barnes, Superintendent, Cleveland ISD & Dr. Bromley, Superintendent, Splendora ISD) – Best Entrée
-
Boudin Ballers – Best Dessert
-
Dos Jungle Amigos – Best Drink
-
Tom & Kim Klepcyk – Best Theme
In addition to the tasting competition, guests participated in a live auction that generated $23,400, featuring exclusive items such as autographed music memorabilia, handcrafted projects made by Splendora High School students, and unique experience packages. “This event showcases what makes East Montgomery County so special,” said Katie Key, Coordinator of the Splendora ISD Education Foundation. “When community members come together — whether they’re cooking, sponsoring, or bidding — they’re investing directly in opportunities that change students’ lives.”
Funds raised from Men Who Cook directly support the Foundation’s teacher grant program, student scholarships, and district initiatives that promote innovation and excellence in Splendora ISD classrooms. The Foundation expressed gratitude to all sponsors, chef teams, volunteers, and guests who made the event a success.
