HCA HEALTHCARE KINGWOOD CELEBRATES NICU GRADUATE AFTER 105-DAY STAY
Baby Julietta’s journey home highlights specialized neonatal care and the strength of NICU families during NICU Awareness Month
Baby Julietta’s journey home highlights specialized neonatal care and the strength of NICU families during NICU Awareness Month
KINGWOOD, Texas (September 2, 2026) — After 105 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), baby Julietta reached a milestone her family and care team had been waiting for: she went home.
During NICU Awareness Month, HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is celebrating Julietta and other NICU graduates and families whose care journeys reflect strength, resilience and hope.
Recent research estimates that between 9% and 13% of infants require neonatal intensive care for complex medical needs. Across HCA Healthcare’s network of care, more than 90 NICUs provide specialized care for babies born prematurely or with complex medical conditions.
For Julietta’s care team, her discharge represented more than the end of a 105-day hospital stay. It marked a meaningful milestone shared by her family and the clinicians who cared for her throughout her NICU journey.
“Every NICU journey is different, and milestones like Julietta going home are incredibly meaningful for families and the care teams who support them,” said Andrea Raab, NICU manager at HCA Healthcare Kingwood. “It is a privilege to care for these babies during such an important time in their lives and to walk alongside their families through the challenges, progress and moments of celebration that come with neonatal intensive care.”
HCA Healthcare Kingwood provides specialized neonatal care for babies who need additional medical support after birth while helping families remain informed and involved throughout their child’s care.
