Greater EMC Chamber Promotes Cheri Grebe to Vice President of Member Opportunities

The Greater EMC Chamber is proud to announce the promotion of Cheri Grebe to Vice President of Member Opportunities. Formerly, the Director of Development, Cheri has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of the Chamber since 2019. During her tenure, membership increased to more than 500 in 2023, a historic milestone for the Chamber’s 35-year history. She has spearheaded member recruitment efforts that have resulted in a 100th new member celebration for four years consecutively. 

“Cheri exemplifies the member-focused, opportunity-driven philosophy that is the driving force for our Chamber,” shared President & CEO Mark Linabury. “She genuinely cares about our members and builds relationships while guiding them through their Chamber experience and its value. Cheri is commonly referred to as ‘Chamber Cheri’ and is more than deserving of a promotion that will allow her to be more visible and have an even bigger impact on our business community. I am often told how fortunate I am to have Cheri on our team, and I could not agree more. It is an honor to promote her for her efforts and dedication to our Chamber and our purpose.” 

As Vice President of Member Opportunities Cheri will design and improve strategies to increase membership sales and retention, member engagement, maximize sponsorship sales and revenue development, and execute strategic leadership and collaboration with community partners. “It is crucial that we adapt our staff to accommodate the growth of our chamber and the region. Cultivating the right people to serve is one of the most important responsibilities we have.” according to Linabury. "Members are offered many opportunities throughout the year in return for supporting the Chamber. Cheri is instrumental in growing these opportunities and strengthening the Chamber’s position as ‘The Hub of Opportunity.’ She is passionate about member engagement and is eager to ensure members are informed with weekly videos, personal outreach, and her leadership participation with our Chamber Diplomats.” 

Cheri gratefully shares that “this chamber has been like family to me for the past 5 years and showing up each day to continue the work we have started is something I can’t imagine not doing.” Many know that Cheri’s parents joined the chamber with their business, IC Janitorial, and have actively participated for many years. In May of 2024, Cheri’s mother lost her battle with cancer leaving a gaping hole in our chamber family that no one can fill. Cheri persevered, and even her dad, Frank Isom, continues to attend events, boasting proudly that he is not only Cheri’s Father but one of our esteemed Diplomats and ready to help members with questions earning him to be recognized as ‘Diplomat of the Year’ for 2024. Cheri remarks: “This chamber is my home, and our members mean so much to me. Although we have grown significantly over the last 5 years, it is just a stepping stone for where we are headed.”
