Full House at Sold-Out Chamber Luncheon Takes Flight with Aviation Theme
The Greater EMC Chamber hosted a sold-out luncheon at the Atrium Center on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, where guests were treated to a one-of-a-kind “airport experience” in honor of our featured speaker, Jim Szczesniak, Director of Aviation for the Houston Airport System.

With the Atrium transformed into a lively aviation-themed setting, Chamber Diplomats welcomed attendees dressed in festive airline attire, with several even dressed as flight attendants. Guests were greeted with a passport activity that set the tone for a fun and engaging afternoon. Thanks to Houston Airports System, ECO Park shuttles were on site to transport attendees from overflow parking generously provided by New Caney High School—adding an authentic “travel day” touch to the occasion.

The culinary journey was just as memorable. The Rusty Buckle BBQ Company wowed guests from the start with their Rusty Buckle Double Shot appetizer—roasted pork loin cubes on sweet corn pico with an apple habanero glaze. Chamber Diplomat Tess Farrand led guests in prayer before opening the buffet. Lunch featured a savory Butcher Station stacked with sliced prime brisket, St. Louis cut pork ribs, and smoked turkey breast, paired with smoked green beans and dirty mac n’ cheese. To finish, attendees enjoyed pumpkin spice cheesecake pudding topped with a BBQ cookie crumble—a seasonal favorite.

Chamber Board Treasurer, Lance Ramesh (known as “Finance Lance”), began the program by leading with the pledges. Presenting Sponsor, Memorial Hermann Northeast, played a central role in the luncheon with Nikki Roux sharing some exciting updates on the hospital’s continued growth, including the expansion of cardiovascular and gastrointestinal services, which will soon allow for more advanced procedures close to home. She also delivered timely reminders about breast cancer awareness and prevention, a message deeply resonating during this awareness season.

We also extend our appreciation to our CenterPrize Sponsor, Allen’s Auto Care, whose support helped make this luncheon possible. Winners of the CenterPrize were selected through the interactive passport activity, which kept guests engaged throughout the event. In addition, two lucky attendees won Rusty Buckle gift certificates as raffle prizes, also tied to the passport experience.
A special moment during the program came when longtime Chamber Diplomat Frank Isom was recognized as the Diplomat of the Quarter. Frank’s dedication, warm spirit, and consistent support of the Chamber’s mission have made him a beloved and respected member of the Diplomat team. His recognition was met with enthusiastic applause from fellow members and guests alike, celebrating his ongoing commitment to helping the Chamber and its members thrive.

The highlight of the program was keynote speaker Jim Szczesniak, who captivated the audience with insights into the Houston Airport System’s operations, growth, and the critical role aviation plays in driving economic development across the region. His presentation underscored the exciting opportunities ahead for both business and community as Houston continues to expand its global connectivity.
From the themed welcome to the delicious dining experience, this luncheon truly soared.
