Weekly Opportunities - April 2026 Week 3: Ribbon Cuttings, Networking Breakfasts, and Community Impact

Hi friends, Cheri here with what is coming up in the community. This week is packed with chances to show up, connect, and celebrate local momentum, plus a big spotlight on why education funding matters right now.

Education Foundation Spotlight: Turning Ideas Into Opportunities

This month’s sponsor is the Splendora ISD Education Foundation. If you have heard of it, you already know the “why” behind it. If you have not, here is the heart of it: teachers have ideas worth funding, and students deserve opportunities beyond the classroom.
That is exactly what the foundation helps make possible. With community support:
  • Classrooms are enhanced
  • Scholarships are awarded
  • Futures are shaped
This is not just education. It is possibility. Learn more at splendoraisdeeducationfoundation.com.

Your Busy Week Starts Monday: Multi-Chamber Ribbon Cutting at HTeaO

Kick off the week with a ribbon cutting that brings multiple chambers together. Monday is all about celebrating a local business at a new location.
  • Event: HTeaO Atascocita Multi-Chamber Ribbon Cutting
  • When: Monday at 4:00 p.m.
  • Where: HTeaO Atascocita
If you want a simple way to support local businesses, a ribbon cutting is a great place to start. It is a quick stop that says, “We see you, and we are cheering for your next chapter.”

Wednesday Morning: Business Networking Breakfast (Presented by Service Master)

Wednesday’s main event is the Business Networking Breakfast, presented by Service Master. Cheri’s advice is simple: COME READY. It is more fun than you might expect from a breakfast networking event!
Here is what to bring:
  • Your business cards
  • A friend
  • Your 30-second introduction ready
  • Door prizes (because everyone loves a chance to win something)
The format is designed to help you connect quickly and confidently, which is especially helpful if you have ever thought, “I want to network, but I do not know what to say.” Having that 30-second intro ready makes it easier to meet people and start real conversations.

Linqqs Ribbon Cutting (Wednesday After Breakfast)

Immediately following the networking breakfast, the community welcomes Linqqs with a New Member Ribbon Cutting.
  • Event: Linqqs Ribbon Cutting
  • Timing: Immediately following the Business Networking Breakfast
  • Location: Check the chamber listing for the specific location and any updates
These back-to-back events are a great reminder that networking is not only about business. It is also about celebrating what is happening locally, together.

Spotlight Sponsor: Insperity and a Message You Do Not Want to Miss

One more reason to get registered early: the Spotlight sponsor is Insperity, and Cheri says you will not want to miss what Gileaña Sonfield has to say. Registration is encouraged now so you can be part of the event and hear the spotlight message in real time.
Action item: Get registered now for the Business Networking Breakfast with Spotlight Sponsor Insperity.

Friday Service Opportunity: Bobbi’s Angels at H-Town Dream Center

If you want to serve in addition to connecting, Friday is your day. Bobbi’s Angels will be volunteering at H-Town Dream Center in Splendora.
  • Event: Bobbi’s Angels Give Back Day
  • Location: H-Town Dream Center in Splendora, TX
  • Registration: Please register by Wednesday to attend
It is a meaningful way to show up for the community. And since registration is required, plan ahead during the week so you do not miss the chance to participate.

Kingwood Revolution Volleyball Ribbon Cutting

Later in the week, there is another ribbon cutting and a warm welcome to a new addition to the business community.
  • Event: Ribbon cutting
  • New business: Kingwood Revolution Volleyball
  • When: 4:00 p.m. (as listed)
  • Where: Porter
This is the kind of event that helps people find you, support you, and spread the word. If you are looking for one simple goal each week, showing up for local ribbon cuttings is a strong start.

Find Everything in One Place

All of these events and more are posted on the chamber website: gemcchamber.com
Have a vibrant and engaged week, and don’t forget to register early. Seats, teams, and opportunities tend to disappear faster than we expect.
