why participate

In partnership with the area school districts, the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce facilitates an annual Principal for a Day experience intended to increase and strengthen partnerships between schools and the community.

what you will experience

On the day of the visit, participants will be treated to breakfast and lunch by culinary students from Splendora ISD and New Caney ISD, hear from the districts’ superintendents, and spend time on campus with principals, teachers, and students.

you will participate in activities like:

serve as a guest reader for students
attend student performances or demonstrations
meet with the Student Council
observe classroom instruction and learning activities; tour facilities
sit in on a leadership meeting
learn about special programs

8:00 AM - 1:00 PM CDT

• 8 a.m. | Meet at Randall Reed Stadium Community Room for a program introduction by New Caney ISD and Splendora ISD superintendents; breakfast catered by New Caney ISD Porter High School culinary arts students

• 9 a.m. | Arrive by bus to designated schools for Principal for a Day experience

•11 a.m. | Return by bus to Randall Reed Stadium for lunch and debrief; catered by Splendora ISD's Splendora High School culinary arts students
