DESCRIPTION:October is Fire Prevention Month (and week\, October 6th - 12th)! The goal is to raise fire safety awareness and help protect businesses\, homes\, and families. With that in mind\, our guest speaker is Fire Chief Carter Johnson of the Porter Fire Department. Don't miss this fun\, friendly\, and informative chamber luncheon that will make you #Proud2BeEMC.\n\n\n\n\n\nCarter Johnson\n\nFire Chief\n\n\n\nThe Montgomery County Emergency Service District #6 Board of Commissioners confirmed Carter Johnson as the Fire Chief in August 2012.\n\n\n\nChief Johnson's fire service journey began as a volunteer Firefighter with the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department.  In 1997\, he moved to the Porter Volunteer Fire Department. During his time as a volunteer\, Chief Johnson served as a company officer and District Chief.  As the department transitioned from a volunteer department to a career department\, so did Chief Johnson\, serving as Assistant Chief.\n\n\n\nChief Johnson has earned an associate degree in Fire Protection Technology from the Lone Star College system and a Bachelor of Fire Service Administration from Texas A&M\, San Antonio.
