Senate District 4 is one of the fastest-growing and most economically significant regions in Texas.\n\n\n\nPrior to his election to the Texas Senate\, Ligon served for 17 years as Montgomery County District Attorney\, where he earned a reputation as a principled conservative leader dedicated to upholding the rule of law. Guided by the motto\, "Let justice be done though the heavens fall\," he never wavered in his mission to protect Texans and deliver justice without compromise. He implemented numerous innovations\, including a 24/7 on-call prosecutor system\, a digital forensics unit\, and one of the state's earliest Veterans Treatment Courts.\n\n\n\nThroughout his career\, Senator Ligon has worked closely with lawmakers\, law enforcement agencies\, and community leaders to strengthen public safety and hold criminals accountable.\n\n\n\nBrett and his wife\, Shannon\, have been married for 33 years. Guided by their faith\, they have raised two children\, Austin and Morgan\, with a steadfast commitment to family and service.
